Bread is undoubtedly the most present food in our diet, after all, there are a lot of items in our own diet that serve as treats for our pooch. But is bread a safe food for dogs or is it on the contrary not recommended?
Bread for your dog: a good idea?
Bread is mainly made up of carbohydrates. It’s therefore not particularly recommended in the dog’s diet, because ingested in too large a quantity and regularly, it leads to overweight or even diabetes in dogs, because of too much sugar intake. From a nutritional point of view, then, bread is not as healthy a treat as zucchini. Bread is also quite concentrated in salt, which can be harmful to health.
Furthermore, not all breads are created equal. Whether white or whole wheat or multi-grain, bread does not represent a danger to your dog’s health – provided that its intake remains reasonable.
On the other hand, other kinds of bread, because of the ingredients of which they are composed, are very dangerous and can be fatal.
